Killer Nashville’s Broken Ribbon, a subsidiary of American Blackguard, Inc. acquires first rights to all works (print and digital), but the copyright remains the ownership of the author. Broken Ribbon requires a one-year hold-back with the exception of author collections (meaning that the work cannot be published anywhere within the year after publication by Broken Ribbon except in a collection of the author's other works). By agreeing to have the work appear in Broken Ribbon , Broken Ribbon , Killer Nashville, and parent company American Blackguard, Inc. have the rights to use the title of the work, the author’s name and likeness, a log-line describing the work, and any reasonable excerpts, quotes, or visual displays in all publicity relating to the volume in which the work is displayed.
